10/27/2021 To Oiler Parents, Guardians and Community Members: The safety of your child and all children in our school as well as the safety of the school staff and support personnel is very important to us. In order to maintain a safe environment for our children to study and learn, it is necessary that we practice our emergency and crisis response plans by having drills designed to exercise our procedures. Today, 10/27/2021 the District conducted an interactive school safety DRILL focusing on a “lockdown” situation. EAWR CHS #14 would like to thank both the Wood River Police Department and Wood River Fire Department, for their coordination and participation in the designed drill. As a reminder, “if you see or hear something, say something.” We encourage our students, families and staff to report any possible security issues to administration immediately. This can be done through our EAWR mobile app, under the “Report It” button. We are proud of these ongoing efforts to keep our schools safe and are doing everything possible to ensure the continued safety of our students and staff. We appreciate your cooperation and support. Best regards, Rob Miller, Superintendent

The Oilers fell last night in the IHSA Regional. They complete their first season in a challenging, new conference and left it all out there every night. We are proud of our student athletes and have learned that it is going to take commitment and work to become competitive in the Cahokia Conference. Let's go BigO!

Oiler Nation- As many of you may know, finding substitutes has been very difficult this school year. We are anticipating a severe staff shortage on Friday, November 12th, which is the day after a non-attendance day in observance of the Veteran’s Day holiday. In anticipation of a severe staff shortage, the decision has been made to make Friday, November 12th a non-attendance day. One additional student attendance day will be added to the end of the calendar in May, making the last day (as of now) Monday, May 23rd. We hope that the creation of a long weekend will give all of us a much-needed change to relax and recharge. Best Regards, Rob Miller Superintendent

Oiler Nation- For those of you who will be attending tonights home football game vs Red Bud, please excuse the stadiums exterior appearance because we are in the process of remodeling. The football stadium is getting a much needed facelift! We are excited to have the entire exterior and press box painted. The grey paint you currently see, is primer. We are hopeful the base coat and the striping will be completed next week weather permitting. The completed project will be exciting for the entire OILER NATION! We hope to see you tonight to cheer on our Oilers to victory! Thank you for your patience and understanding. Mr. Miller, Superintendent
