The Guidance Department invited members from the National Alliance on Mental Illness Southwestern Illinois (NAMI SWI) to present “NAMI Ending the Silence” to students currently enrolled in Health Education. "NAMI Ending the Silence" is a presentation geared towards educating high school students about mental illness featuring individuals and family members whose lives have been affected by mental illness who provide real-life perspectives based on personal experiences. In addition to the presentation, a variety of resources regarding mental health were provided as well as an information booth during lunch periods. We would like to thank the members from NAMI SWI for taking the time to present to our students in order to provide a better understanding about the importance of mental health. Visit namiswi.org or nami.org to learn more.
