**Attention Gamers! If you are interested in playing competitive esports for EAWR, there will be an esports meeting after school in the college and career center on Tuesday August 30th.
**The cafe is not open during passing periods. You must have a pass from your teacher or you will not be served!
**This year, all students should be parking in the gym or north parking lots. If you need a parking pass please stop by the Main Office to get one. Parking passes are free and you must have one in your car.
**Juniors and Seniors: Would you like to be the next Oiler Dan? If you have a lot of spirit and would like to try out, sign up in the attendance center.
**The East Alton First United Methodist Church located at 1001 Third Street in East Alton (across from Eastwood School) is looking for volunteers to help with outside yard clean up from 9-11 am tomorrow. If you are interested in volunteering please sign up in the Attendance Center located in the East Building.
**Picture Day will be on Tuesday, September 6. The flyer given to you by your first hour teacher is incorrectly dated August 26. Lifetouch will be here on September 6 to take photos of all students, faculty, and staff. Seniors, even if you plan to use a senior photo from an outside photographer for the yearbook, get your photo taken by Lifetouch on Picture Day so that you will appear in the Class of 2023 composite photo.
**Today is our first home football game and Spirit Club is sponsoring a tailgate party with free hot dogs, chips, and soda/water for all EAWR students and staff in the bus circle from 6:15-6:45. The theme for the game is maroon and gold and Spirit Club would like all EAWR students to sit in the student section located at the north end of the stadium. Also students will line up on the field for pre-game by 6:45 pm.
**Students can purchase a fall athletic pass from the Attendance Center for $5. This pass will allow an EAWR student into all fall home games for $5 (football/volleyball) except for IHSA contests. All fall athletes and band members get into fall events for free.
**There will be a short harvest queen meeting after school on Monday in the college and career center.
**Hey Seniors! Your last first day of school has come and gone, but you have the opportunity to submit an old first day of school picture for the Back to School edition of the school newspaper, The Oiler Times. Please check your email from Ms. Arment for details.

Tonight, the Refinery Bar and Grill presented AD, Mark Beatty with a $1,000 check to help offset the cost of our football first responder and 9/11 uniforms. We are excited for our new partnership with Lou and Stephanie!
JV and freshman volleyball kick up their season tonight at CM. Varsity plays at 6 pm.
Freshmen received an Oiler shirt from student council and spirit club is practicing for tomorrow’s pep assembly. Remember on Fridays we wear maroon and gold!!
Some people just go the extra mile. One such person is Mr. Moxey, our transportation and maintenance director. Here is spray painting the graphics on the football field. It takes hours! He works tirelessly for us and we are lucky to have him. If you see him, I’ll thank him.

Junior Oilers boys basketball open gyms are now on the schedule for Memorial Gym to go along with the girls! This is how we become successful. Working together to bring kids into the gym at a younger age. Let's pack the gym each Sunday with Jr. Oilers!
Year long athletic passes are on sale and the pass will allow the holder to get in all home athletic events for the 2022-2023 school year minus IHSA events. Passes are $30 for adults and $20 for non-EAWR children under 18. EAWR students can purchase a $5 home athletic pass for fall in the Attendance Center. Passes can be purchased at the first home volleyball game at the entrance or the first home football game at the north gate near the East Building.
The EAWR Student Council Room got a new mural on the wall and is ready for the first meeting of the year next week.
The air conditioning is flowing in the gym and Oiler Dan is ready for a Friday night win.
