Monday, March 25, 2024 **Seniors--Please look at your email to find the link sent by Mrs. Robinson to complete your Senior Spotlight. Be sure to enter your name and the name of the college/university/trade school/branch of the military that you will attend next school year. If there are questions, please email Mrs. Robinson. **Teen Paint Night at the Wood River Public Library is Monday, April 8th from 6-8 pm. The cost is $10 per person and you must register in person at the library so you can choose your wooden cutout. Please see the flyer sent by Mrs. Robinson for more details. **Students–The East Alton Methodist Church (across from Eastwood School/East Alton Middle School) will be having a campus clean up from 9 am until noon Saturday, April 6th. If interested in volunteering please sign up in the document Mrs. Robinson shared with you. **After prom tickets will be on sale from April 9th, 11th 12th in the cafeteria during lunch hours. After prom is a parent sponsored event and will be held at Edison’s in Edwardsville on April 27th from 11:30pm-2:30am. After prom tickets are $15 each. **Senior cap and gown orders will be delivered in the courtyard during academic lab on Tuesday, April 2nd. Balances need to be paid in full to pick up items. Seniors: There is a community service opportunity today and Thursday to help with girls soccer. If you would like to volunteer please email Mr Beatty at mbeatty@eawr.org or sign up in the doc called Sen Comm Ser - Mon, March 25. If you are volunteering today please arrive by 4:15 and if you are volunteering on Thursday please arrive at 4:45 pm. **Seniors: We have 44 days till graduation!

EAWR students attended the Cyber Security Career Day at SIUE on Friday. Students were busy on their computers participating in a virtual capture the flag game with other area schools.

Mia Plumb receive a $500 sponsorship from the EAWR Foundation to attend the Intensive Law and Trial Program at Stanford this summer.

Oilers Softball looks to earn their second win of the season this afternoon on the road at Waterloo High School.

The Oilers go for win #2 on the season later today at home vs. the Minutemen.

Athletic Announcements: Congratulations to Nevaeh Flowers on scoring her first career varsity goal in last night's soccer game! She scored off a nice corner kick from Kaidence Reef. Good luck today to our varsity baseball and softball teams. Baseball hosts Bunker Hill at home while softball heads out on the road to Waterloo High School.

Big Sisters hosted it's annual Easter egg hunt this evening and welcomed Pre-K and kindergarten students from all of our feeder schools. All the kids had a great time!

Oiler Softball fell to the Tigers of Greenfield/Northwestern at home this afternoon.

Varsity Baseball: The Oilers lost 11-4 on the road tonight to Greenfield/Northwestern. Drake Champlin was the player of the game for the Oilers. He hit a 2 run home run tonight.

The Big Sisters Easter Egg Hunt is Wednesday, March 20th at 6pm in the East Building Courtyard (enter through door E1). Pre-K and kindergarten students from the feeder districts (Wood River/Hartford East Alton) are invited to participate in a coloring activity and East Egg Hunt. On the original flyer, the start time wasn't listed. Again, the Easter Egg Hunt will start at 6pm.

The team of Grace McLagan, Adair Hicks, Quisqueya Puckett, and Jack Gould won 3rd place in the Madison County Senior Olympiad today. EAWR also had 3 other teams competing: Mayonna Jaggie, Camey Adams, Jordan Ealey, and Kelsey Moore, Isaac Thornton, Justice Garland, and Kirk Lane, and Madelynn Cranmer, Samantha Kulish, Kylen Johnson, and Kennadie Ruot. There were 20 high school teams from Madison County altogether. All of our teams made a strong showing in the problem solving competition held in Edwardsville.
