Parents of EAWR Students can now participate in the 5 Essentials Survey for Parents.  This survey gives parents the opportunity to participate in School Improvement for EAWR.  Please click  to begin the survey.

• Enter your email address
• Enter the county of your child’s school [Madison] - as you type it will search and autofill
• Enter the name of your child's school [East Alton-Wood River High Sch (777 N Wood River Ave, Wood River, IL 62095)] - again as you type it will search and autofill
• Advance to survey questions
• Answer all applicable questions
• Click Submit Survey.

You may take this survey one time or you may complete it for each child that you have in school.

  • Oiler Girls Place Second in Gibault Tourney! The Oiler Girls Basketball Team had a very successful Candy Cane Classic tournament run last week, with two wins (Valmeyer and Waterloo) and a loss in the championship game to Columbia. Aubrey Robinson was one of only five players in the entire eight-team tournament field to make the All-Tournament Team.Congrats to Head Coach Joe Parmentier on picking up his 300th career win with the win Thursday night, beating Waterloo!

  • Girls BKB Wins Dupo Tourney! Congrats to our EAWR Oilers on winning the Dupo Tourney last Saturday! The Oilers defeated Marissa, Waterloo Gibault, and Glen Carbon Father McGivney to begin the season at 3-0 and bring some hardware!

  • Principal Appreciation Day - Oct. 26 Right before school started this morning, the staff and students honored our wonderful administrators, Principal Leigh Robinson and Asst. Principal Kevin Gockel with a morning reception in the Courtyard. Hundreds of students and staff members had the opportunity to wish both well on this Principal Appreciation Day.Principal Appreciation Day is a national and state wide recognition of all school principals and assistant principals for the tough jobs they do in leading their schools. Each received a couple of tokens of the District's appreciation as well as great caricatures drawn by Art Teacher, Mr. Charlie James.   • Presidential Alert TODAY (Oct. 3rd) - Rescheduled Attention parents, students. staff, and community: A test "Presidential Alert" will be sent to all cell phones in the nation today (Oct. 3rd) at 1:18 Central time. This is a re-scheduled date from the original notice. The alert title is "Presidential Alert."   • Active Shooter Drill - Friday, Sept. 28 During the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 28th, the EAWR staff and the Wood River Police Department will conduct an active shooter drill at EAWR. Students will not be present during this drill, since they only attend in the morning that day.Police will use blank ammunition during the drill, so community members in the neighborhood may hear the shots.EAWR is working with the Wood River Police in this effort to improve security for our students and staff, and to prepare its emergency response.

  • Thespian Society Induction The International Thespian Society has recently honored several EAWR Drama students by being inducted into the International Thespian Society - Troupe 733, the honor society for high school theatre students. Each Thespian inductee has completed over 100 hours of excellent work in theatre arts and related disciplines. In doing so, they have acquired essential 21st Century life and career skills that include creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication.   • Renaissance Winners! Today (9/20/18), EAWR hosted its semi-annual Renaissance Assembly. This event recognizes students for grade point average, attendance, and good behavior. Students must meet defined criteria in all of these areas to be honored as a Renaissance winner.
