Congrats to our Class of 2015 Silver Medallion Award winners. Last night (4/16/15), over 750 family members and friends watched as the top 8% of each of the 21 area high schools' graduating classes were honored at Lewis & Clark College's George Terry Arena. EAWR's top students - with their post high school plans - were: Micaela Cruise (Kansas State - Nuclear Engineering), Nic Daily (SIUE- Industrial Engineering), Brandi Lacey (Lewis & Clark - Dental Hygiene), Alex Pugh (Colorado State - Nuclear or Chemical Engineering), Kayla Staten (SIUE - either Social Work or Nursing), Anna Tomblingson (SIUE - Nursing), Jenna Walker (Purdue - mechanical or Biomedical Engineering), and Kari Westbrook (SIUE - Exercise Science/Pediatric Occupational Therapy). Also attending was Sarah Jones, EAWR Chemistry Teacher, who was our student's nominee for the Teacher of the Year.

We are proud to announce that Kari Westbrook was selected as the Silver Medallion Female Scholar Athlete for 2015, out of 21 applicants. Kari has been a three-sport athlete and a major contributor in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball for her high school career. She joins a list of five Oilers who have been given this distinction by the Silver Medallion Selection Panel in the last nine years: Tim Kamp (2007), Airika Tyler (2008), Shane McKee (2013), and Brad Gaines (2014).
