Right before school started this morning, the staff and students honored our wonderful administrators, Principal Leigh Robinson and Asst. Principal Kevin Gockel with a morning reception in the Courtyard. Hundreds of students and staff members had the opportunity to wish both well on this Principal Appreciation Day. Principal Appreciation Day is a national and state wide recognition of all school principals and assistant principals for the tough jobs they do in leading their schools. Each received a couple of tokens of the District's appreciation as well as great caricatures drawn by Art Teacher, Mr. Charlie James. A large banner - made by students in Mr. James' classes was also displayed. Mr. Mattix-Wand provided music. Doughnuts were served to the many students and staff in attendance. A big thanks to Mrs. Carla Guthrie for all of her efforts in organizing this recognition and to Ms. Fry, Cafeteria Director for assisting her in the set-up. Thank you to Mrs. Robinson and Mr. Gockel for your hard work and leadership! |
