REPRESENTATIVES from the following colleges will be on campus the following days:

  • Greenville University October 23rd, Quincy University October 24th, St. Louis Community College October 29th


JUNIOR & SENIOR students interested in meeting with any representatives may obtain a pass from their guidance counselor.


ANY GIRLS INTERESTED in playing indoor soccer who is going to play in the spring needs to see Coach Lawson to sign up!


ANY BOYS INTERESTED in trying out for the bowling team must attend a meeting in Coach Lawson's room, E211, on Tuesday, Oct 23rd, at the start of academic lab. If you plan on attending, please obtain a pass from Coach Lawson or Coach Herron prior to the meeting.

ANY GIRLS INTERESTED in trying out for the bowling team will meet in the beginning of November.


ATTENTION BASEBALL PLAYERS there will be a signup sheet outside Coach Duncan's health room. Please sign up if you want to play baseball this year and take part in the fall practices. And again that sheet will be outside room E204.


THE WOOD RIVER MUSEUM is looking for volunteers on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3-4 pm and also on Saturdays from 1-4 pm. If you are interested in volunteering, please check your email for some more information.


THE VILLAGE OF HARTFORD is needing 5-6 volunteers to help with the Hartford Parade on Saturday, Oct 27th, from 12:30-3 pm. If you plan to sign up, there is a sheet in the Attendance Center. Volunteers will meet at the Hartford Gym at 12:30 pm.

THE HARTFORD FIRE DEPT. is looking for volunteers to help with their Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct 27th, from 5:30-9:30 pm.  If you are interested in volunteering, please stop by the Attendance Center to sign up. Volunteers will meet at the Hartford Gym at 5:30 pm.

LOVEJOY UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH in Wood River is also looking for volunteers for their Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct 27th, from 2-5 pm.  If you’d like to help out, please check your email for some more information, as well as the flyer that was sent out.

A COMMUNITY GROUP is looking for volunteers to walk in the Alton Parade on Halloween to raise drug awareness. Volunteers will hand out literature, and also pass out “just say no to drugs” bracelets. If you are interested in volunteering, please check your email for additional details.

JUNIOR and SENIOR students interested in meeting with any of these representatives may obtain a pass from their guidance counselor.

STUDENT volunteers are needed during parent/teacher conferences on Wednesday, October 17 and  Thursday, October 18. You can sign up for this community service in the attendance center.

PICTURE retake day is today.  If you were absent on picture day or want your pictures retaken, please stop by the auditorium before 11:30 this Friday.  Reminder that you must return your unwanted pictures if you have having yours retaken.

 

THE Guidance department is hosting a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Night on Tuesday, October 16th in the Library beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The FAFSA is an application that all seniors attending college in FAll 2019 must complete for Federal student aid. Space is limited, so contact Mrs. Woodman in Guidance to reserve a seat.  

 

ALL Big Sisters:  There will be a meeting today in the lecture hall at 10:45am during academic lab.  Please attend.

 

THE Hartford Fire Department is looking for volunteers to help with the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 27th from 5:30-9:30 pm.  If you are interested in volunteering please stop by the Attendance Center to sign up. If you volunteer please meet at the Hartford Gym across from Casey's at 5:30 pm.

 

THE Village of Hartford is needing 5-6 volunteers to help from 12:30-3 at the Hartford Parade Saturday, October 27th.  The sign up is in the Attendance Center. If you volunteer please meet at the Hartford Gym at 12:30 pm.

THE WR Fire Department is looking for volunteers for the annual Wood River Fish Fry at the Wood River Fire Department this Saturday.  Shifts begin at 8:30 am and go in 2-hour increments until 7 pm. Stop by the Attendance Center to sign up.

THE Cheerleaders will be sponsoring the Queen’s Dance following Coronation Saturday at  the cost is $5 per person and tickets are only sold at the door. Please be sure to follow the handbook rules for dress code—no jeans and dresses/skirts must be at least finger tip in length.  Please remember that this is a school event and students must conduct themselves in an appropriate manner when dancing.

**The 2nd coronation assembly is today and the schedule can be found in your 18-19 Schedules Folder.  Voting will be online so it is important that all students have their chromebook to access the link through his/her EAWR account that will be emailed after the assembly to vote.  

*All students involved in the coronation will take A lunch and then report to the memorial gym for practice hours 4-6.

This week.....in honor of  TEEN READ WEEK, students are reminded to POST every book they read on the READING TREE in the LIBRARY as soon as possible.  The first drawing for prizes will take place early next week and winners will be announced. Good luck to all who participate.

BIG Sisters, old and new, and Top 5 Candidates- Tonight is the Big Sisters Induction.  Please arrive by 6:15pm. The program will start at 7pm in the East Building Courtyard.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Parmentier or Mrs. Miller.

THE ALTON MOOSE is hosting Bikers Behind the Badges tomorrow and is looking for volunteers.  Students can volunteer anytime between 9 am and 11 pm and you don't need to stay the whole day so you can pick and choose times.  Mrs Robinson emailed out additional information about the event if you are interested.

GUEST forms for the Queen's Dance are due today by 11:25.

JUNIORS and Seniors:  The City of Wood River is hosting a community event tomorrow  in downtown Wood River. They need help with running booths and other tasks. They are needing 5-6 volunteers from 10:30 am until 4 pm.  If you volunteer you will need to meet at Riverbend Bounce 145 E Ferguson in downtown Wood River next to the post office. Juniors and seniors interested please sign up in the Attendance Center.
